ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONISM

I am mainly an abstract painter, preferring the freedom of acrylics for my work.  Much of my work is derived from the landscape around me but recently I have begun to realise that it is also much influenced by the tumultuous decades through which I have lived, filtered through the lens of  a cheerful and optimistic nature. I have been painting since childhood and have always been drawn to strong colours and contemporary style.

Homeland – oil on canvas – 70cm x 160cm

The upheaval of the last 100 years or so have taken in the devastation of two world wars, the excitement of space exploration, the explosion of the information technology and on to far reaching medical science.

All of this rapid change has worked its own way into my art so perhaps it’s not surprising that my canvasses are colourful and exciting. I am a prolific painter and make work on both large and small formats. I have a large collection of affordable work for sale in my studio and am always happy to undertake commissions.

I have exhibited my work around the world over the years especially in London, New York, Miami and Europe and continue to exhibit locally.
